Often times we get so caught up in doing things in a routine order that we don’t put forth our best effort. During these times the mission is to just get the job done.
I happen to be a very organized person, I keep a planner listing due dates for assignments, dates of quizzes and exams, meetings, and even birthdays. As a student I prepare myself well in advance for classes, reading, outlining notes, and making study guides, the whole nine yards. But lately there seems to be a problem.
These last few weeks I’ve noticed myself just going through the motions. Completing assignments just to check it off my list of things to do, studying for exams but not taking any extra steps because in the past these same study habits were efficient. I can’t explain my situation in any other way, other than “My efforts are lacking effort. ”
Realizing this, starting TODAY I am making a “Promise of Change.” A promise to myself, to not shorthand ANYTHING that I do. A promise to myself, to make the necessary adjustments in my life, so that I will always put forth my best effort and be proud of my results.
Ecclesiastes 9:10 says “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.”
Today I challenge you to find one thing that you have been struggling with and make a “Promise of Change.” Whatever it may be, acknowledge it and take the necessary steps to execute the change.
