The holiday season is always my favorite time of year because it’s an opportunity for the family to come together and show each other their appreciation. From Thanksgiving to New Year’s, everyone is doing what they can just to make their loved ones smile. Even in the heat of the Black Friday madness, people are fighting not just to catch that great deal on a flat screen, the Barbie Dream house, or NBA 2K13 but for those couple minutes of joy they feel after their gift is unwrapped.
Yes the spirit of the holidays is wonderful and moving, but what about the other spirits? Those spirits we should possess throughout the entire year?
Many of us have heard of the Fruits of the Spirit but do we KNOW them? Do we know what it means to longsuffer? To be gentle? I challenge all my sisters as we go into this New Year to learn these fruits and try to carry them in our everyday lives.
Here is the list:
Let’s start off with maybe 3 fruits and as the year progress add another fruit to work on. I have learned that if you put in the work, plant the good seeds, you will bear great fruit.
My fruits for the New Year will be self-control, peace, and faithfulness. What will be yours?
