It destroys friendships, it makes life difficult, and it often distorts our focus. The more time we spend thinking about what the next person has, the less time we have to think about what we have and all of the things that we should be grateful for.
When God created us, He created us in His image, not in the image of each other. If someone else has something that you want don’t get jealous about it and spread nasty little lies, get motivated to not only get that but the next best thing, and be happy for them.
The way I see it, us being jealous is like a slap in the face to God. It’s our way of being unappreciative, our way of saying “Lord that wasn’t good enough, look at what you gave them, I want that too.”
We are all guilty of being jealous hearted, so I’m not pointing the finger. As Christmas is coming up I’m just encouraging you to be grateful for what you have and know that what God has for you is for YOU.
“Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart.”-Psalm 37:4
