Whip My Hair

“I whip my hair back and forth
I whip my hair back and forth (whip it real good)
I whip my hair back and forth
I whip my hair back and forth
Don’t let haters keep me off my grind
Keep my head up I know I’ll be fine
Keep fighting until I get there
When I’m down and I feel like giving up I think again”

I know everyone has either seen or heard the new song “Whip My Hair” by Willow Smith. For starters I think she is so adorable and she has so much “swag” to be a 9 year-old. After watching the video and looking at a couple YouTube postings, I started thinking, hmmmm, I wonder if she knows how many people she has touched by this song, White, Black, Latino, Gay, Lesbian, straight, ages 5 to 40+. She and her team have created a club hit but also a confidence booster. There are times when you may be down, stressed or feel like nothing’s going right just push play and start ‘Whipping your hair’. Meaning, don’t sweat the small stuff.

Always try and remain positive in everything you do. I was once told, “If you don’t have haters then you must not be doing something right”. So continue doing you and doing what you love because haters will always be around trying to spoil what you have achieved. It’s up to you not to let them get the best of you. Just keep your head up and be the best person you know you can be. And it doesn’t hurt to just let your hair down and Whip it. 🙂 Thanks Willow, you ‘Did That’ girl!

And to all my natural sistas that may get down about your hair at times…Check this out, this is for you 🙂
